Arrived Safely in Amman!

Dear Readers:

We have arrived safe and sound.

We waited and waited for our flight at the Airport after Dylan dropped us off on Saturday. We finally got on the plane to New York at 5:00 p.m. for an hour and a half flight. Yes, we were served cookies, coffee and peanuts. Then we waited and waited and waited for our flight to Amman at 11:00 p.m. The flight was 11 hours long, crossing seven time zones.

We arrived in Amman at 5:00 p.m. The Royal Jordanian Airline did treat us royally. We had supper on the plane when we got on. Then we have a great breakfast on the plane this morning.

We are currently using our first free hour of Internet at our hotel. The hotel is in the City Centre, which is a very busy downtown area.

Earlier we had supper at a very interesting restaurant. We sat out on the balcony watching the activities. Inside the restaurant, it was very smokey because of the many people smoking water pipes. We did not try the water pipes this evening, as we were attempting to find out whether or not there was tobacco in them. Our research has indicated that there is no tobacco in them, but different types of fruit ,i.e., pineapple, apple. We plan to go back to the 'happening' restaurant.

This is a picture of our hotel's alley.
